Improving Social Security in Scotland The ALLIANCE would like to ask you about the future of social security, specifically welfare benefits, in Scotland. Following the Smith Commission report, the agreement on further devolution of powers to the Scottish Government, the Scottish Parliament's Welfare Reform Committee is seeking views on the future system for administrating benefit support to people who require them. To inform the ALLIANCE's response to this consultation, we would like to hear your views on the following questions, in relation to; Personal Independence Payments, Disability Living Allowance, Attendance Allowance and Carer’s Allowance, Universal Credit (housing element and administrative arrangements arrangements) and Discretionary Housing Payments, the Work Programme and Work Choice, and the Regulated Social Fund, new benefits, top-ups and delivery of benefits overall. ALLIANCE Survey Questions 1) Personal Independence Payments, Disability Living Allowance Attendance, Allowance and Carer’s Allowance a. Should Scotland replace or improve these benefits? b. What are the main priorities for improving/replacing these benefits to make sure people are treated equally with dignity and respect? 2) Universal Credit (housing element and administrative arrangements arrangements) and Discretionary Housing Payments a.
