Video Conferencing event– Stronger Voices: Connecting Communities AM

The ALLIANCE networking event on 23 October will connect different areas of Scotland to ensure that our member’s voices have a key role in driving the future shape of health and social care services nationally and locally.
On 4 June 2014 the Cabinet Secretary for Health and Wellbeing, Alex Neil MSP, announced > that:
"we must do more to listen to, and promote, the voices of those we care for. We need the voices of our patients, those receiving care and their families, to be heard in a much clearer and stronger way"
The Scottish Government's ambition is to ensure that our services are co-produced with the communities they serve, build on people's assets and support the health and wellbeing of the whole person and their family.
The Stronger Voice > project is overseen by a Project Team which includes representatives from the Scottish Government >, the Scottish Health Council, Healthcare Improvement Scotland >The ALLIANCE and COSLA >  The way we will do this will be led by a range of activities including:
  • research and scoping of existing participation models across the public sector and internationally
  • engagement events with stakeholders around Scotland
  • smaller local focus group style meetings with patient and community groups and members of the public, and
  • social media and internet approaches, utilising modern technology for gathering views.
Reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed for people living withg long term conditions by the ALLIANCE or Scottish Health Council, these must be agreed in advance.
We would like to invite you to a session to help shape our proposal. We will be connecting members from various locations including:
