Hi

with great thanks to Alzheimer Scotland for adding their support to our "Make A Difference "Campaign & Tour

personally I had great support from Alzheimer Scotland on my walk around Scottish Towns and cities a few years back and they also Funded my first film

We now have  a joint leaflet with Dementia Carer Voices - ALLIANCE  -Alzheimer Scotland  for me to take out on my tour

with both the pledge card and new Alzheimer Scotland  Dementia friends

A big thank you to Alzheimer Scotland and all the others who have endorsed our campaign  and as a son who cared for his mum I will proudly promote the Alzheimer Scotland dementia friends initiative  on my tour

Make a pledge – Make a difference
How will you make a difference?

We aim to ensure that carers have their voices heard, their rights and caring role are recognised by those who play a part in the journey and that real life experience influences health and social care policy, culture and practice. Having heard the stories of Tommy and other carers we want to ask those working in Health and Social Care services:
What one thing will you take away and change in order to make a difference to the lives of people with dementia and their carers?
You can send your pledge to us via email  to makeadifference@alliance-scotland.org.uk. We will be collating the pledges and publishing them on the home page of this website so please be sure to let us know your name and role. If, however you prefer for your pledge to remain anonymous, please indicate this in your response.
Here are some pledges that we have already received:
“I pledge to listen with open ears and and open heart.”
“I pledge to view the person I care for as all that they have been, they are and all that they can be.”
“I pledge to take the time to speak to the person’s family and provide support to make their lives as fulfilling as possible.”
We would like to thank our partner organisations from across the sector showing their support for the campaign, and helping to spread the message that “You Can Make A Difference.”
