I care full time for my mum Joan who has Vascular Dementia. I have been my mums son for 49 years and have cared for her full time for the the last 5 for the last year I have been raising awareness and collecting life stories / experiences good or bad .I have been taking those experiences to the Scottish Government in the hope of bringing more understanding and help .I now feel I have some unique opportunities over the coming months to take all this information to and work with Government ,NHS ,Social work and Glasgow City council .I have received hundreds of letters and emails detailing peoples experiences to date, along with going out to do talks and meet with families and carers like me. What you do is amazing and such a devotion from a son to Mother I hope this will raise much needed awareness of Dementia and those who care.I feel humbled to read this.
