It hits hardest at home

Well I have been trying to keep my mind occupied and the campaign my mum and I started together going and growing .on the positive side a new project with the ALLIANCE supported by the Scottish government was finalized  ,based on my campaign to collect life stories under the heading Dementia ,Carer Voices the blog about our life and campaign has also been shortlisted for a roses media award for dementia and social care ,with thanks to independent age and Barchester care along with the judging panel ,I am really grateful overwhelmed and proud  to be on a shortlist with the likes of Panorama ,Louis Theroux - The Independent: and BBC Radio 4: Today .its a great honor I have also been busy with a few talks one at an NHS event and two for east Dunbartonshire council and SW ,with lots more awareness raising lined up for the coming weeks months and years  but my mum is never far from my mind and heart and I feel strong when out talking about our life as its important and a tribute and hopefully legacy to my wee mum as well as I hope helping bringing more understanding on both dementia and caring ,But there is no escaping the emptiness in my life at certain times of the day and most certainly when I am home ,life will never be the same again but i hope the lives of others can be better with a wee bit of help from a campaign started from a bedroom for the love of mum
